Yeah, well...

Right, I've not updated this in what feels like, absolutely ages. But I have a good excuse honest! I've been working with my new Blog about ranting, and moaning! It's called "Ryanthegoddamnlion", and I well...Moan...About anything and everything that gets on my goat. Why not check it out? You might enjoy it! :)

Fallout

I went on Fallout 3 earlier, a classic game from 2007. Not been on it for months before now, and I've missed it lot to be honest...With it's vast playing area, and almost endless number of options, weapons, collectibles and missions, it really was literally amazing, in just about every way!

Bye bye bed

My trusty old bunk-bed collapsed the other day! Fun times. We're waiting on the delivery of new ones now, until then though I've got to sleep on the floor!

Moved on

I've noticed that recently, I'm losing touch with people I once cared about. Things are changing and I'm beginning to think I'm getting alienated by people. It's partly my own fault though...I'm wrapped up in my own world where really only a few things matter to me, and they don't include friends, as harsh as that may seem.

Right now, I've got Megan to look after, every night I'll talk to her for a long time, at least 2 hours a day, which is needed really seeing as I don't get to see her very often. I'm looking for a way to both fix and sell the Audi too, it's more difficult than it may seem, I don't know how much it's all going to cost. And the job world is taking over my life. So recently on an average day it'll be "Wake up, go school, come home, eat lunch, fill in job application forms, check auto trader, play Xbox, talk to Megan, go sleep." It's the same every night, and I don't mind either.

But I am losing touch with so many people. It's almost like I don't have any friends any more. I've not talked with any friends properly in a long time. Not even those who once were so close. It's frustrating really. Not just because I've got no time, but also because it seems none even makes effort with me any more. It could be because of recent events, but either way, it seems a bit unfair. Like I'm not worth being a friend any more.

Then again, maybe this is just what happens when you get older? Maybe you just move on, grow up and get on with your life. Who knows really. I don't suppose it really matters in the end, as long as everyone is happy.

Exam

My ICT test is this afternoon. The first of 7! I'm not worried...But I am at the same time. After failing it twice I guess I'm just not all to confident on my abilities really. Even if I do, it's not like it matters. It's only an exam, and I've got college next year.

People.

Some people are douches. That is all.

THIS WEEK...

...has been a busy one, and I've not really had much time to a.) myself and b.) my Blog!

Well, I've done a fair bit on the job front...applied to a few places i.e. Homebase, Halfords and The Carphone Warehouse! I've also got an application form for Tescos, and I need to hand my CV in for Bright House.

I've been looking at cheap cars too...just in case. I think I'd like a Fiat Punto, but apparently the best version is the HGT. We'll see how things go in that sense. I do like Punto's though, they're very...nice I'd say.

I also, VERY nearly broke my phone. I dropped it in a cup of tea. Not a smart idea. It didn't turn on for about a day, had to leave it be for about 2 days to dry out before hand. But a simple tip: If you drop your phone in tea, wash it out/dab it with a wet sponge, then leave it to dry for a while. When it's completely dry you can try to use it. It should work.

Other things have happened, but things have been such a blur, I can barely remember any of it to be honest. Ah well. Loved the weekend though ;)

Job Please!

I NEED a job, right now. Mum said that if I can afford to pay for the work that needs doing to the Audi, I'll get it...That's great but I can't afford the car until I get a job!

I mentioned this to Michael...He said he was also interested in the car...As a part-exchange for his Fiat Punto...Though I'm not sure if that's a good deal. We'll see what happens won't we. Everything depends on whether I can find a job. Things will be so much easier if I had a car! Audi or Fiat.

Elections

Well, whilst I've been wrapped up playing GTA IV and immersing myself in my own little world, the world of politics has been changing. Vastly.

Last night it appeared that the country prefers the Conservatives altogether. That's fair enough but it could mean massive changes. Right now however, we're experiencing a 'Hung-Parliament'. That means that the party with the most votes can attempt to make a complete party with the Liberal Democrats.
Though the same could happen with Labour and the Lib-Dems.

We could have a conservative government, however Mansfield, and Nottinghamshire has a mainly Labour. It's a shame the Lib-Dems didn't do as well as hoped, but in the end I suppose things could be worse.

I'm just glad Labour is still in Mansfield to be honest...

I really hope David Cameron doesn't win this election. His ideas are just...well shit. There's no other way to say this. My personal favourite is Nick Clegg. But there we go...

I made a group on Facebook about a week ago, entitled 'I hate it when people take my stuff WITHOUT asking!!"...So far I've got 657 members which is my highest ever for a group! I'm literally amazed! I'm just hoping we can get to 1000 at some point. Already passed the 500 mark...Click here and join it if you haven't already!

If you type that code into your Nokia, it'll show the exact date it had been made. Mine was the 7th of August! quite surprising seeing as I got it on the 26th of September!

GTA

I got another new game the other day, GTA IV, or 4 to people who can't read Roman numerals. When we first got it, the disc didn't work but it seems to be alright so far now we've had it repaired.

The graphics seem very good, and the game play is fun but I suppose I'll go into more detail at a later date...

SUNNY...Nissan

This was Mum and Dad's very first car...We got this beast in 1983! I actually quite liked it. We had the 1983 model. We had so many memories in that car...Shame it's gone.

DLC... Disappointment Loaded Content.

Earlier I entered my Forza Motorsport DLC code on the Xbox 360 downstairs, however I used my hard-drive. I didn't realise that it would work ONLY on the Xbox 360 downstairs! Not mine upstairs. However I couldn't use the one upstairs as it didn't have an Xbox connection...So really I'm pretty screwed. I can't use the cars I downloaded upstairs, but I can downstairs. Then again I NEVER get chance to use the 360 downstairs.
It's very, very disappointing! Yes, I'm sad I know...

Ford Transit...

Few objects have reached the point of popularity in which they're referred to by their brand-name...You don't want a 'vacuum cleaner' you want a Hoover. You don't want an MP3 player, you want an 'iPod', and you don't want a van...You want a Transit!
The Ford Transit has to be one of the best vehicles ever made. Sure, it's a van. It's sluggish despite having a reasonably big engine, and sure it's heavy, but it has a similar chassis to a car. It has a car's running gear too...Meaning it handles somewhat similar. The high centre of gravity makes it a more fun ride too!

When it was released it was quick compared to most cars! With a top-speed of 90 miles an hour. It was also surprisingly agile, and spacious compared with other vans...It was the perfect vehicle. 'Tis why 95% of armed robberies in the 1970's involved a transit. Not many cars, let alone vans have ever lived up to that legacy!

Not just that, it could make an excellent moving home without being turned into a caravan ;)

Eyjafjallajoekull...?

That Icelandic volcano erupted recently. It's disrupted ALL flights to an from the UK, and is causing wide spread flooding after many glaciers melted. It must be really bad if it's causing planes to stop in England, not just Iceland...Bad times. The planes are grounded until at the very least 6.00pm, and I can imagine it's going to cause many problems for holiday makers.

According to news reports, the plume of ash has reached places as far away as Russia, and has no real signs of stopping...Bad times!

It does make sense to stop the flights though. Volcanic ash does have a tendency to cause Jet-Engines to stop working, and as a result crash...In hindsight I'd rather be delayed for a while before being able to board a plane than have it crash whilst I'm on it because of a volcanic eruption in Iceland...

Fiat 500 Abarth

I have a lot of time for the Fiat Abarth 500...The regular 500 seems to be 'the handbag of the car-world' but the Abarth is cool, quick, and quirky. It also looks much more professional than the regular 500...what a beast...!
There are many cars I'd still prefer, such as the Fiesta Zetec S, Clio R28 and the Peugeot 207...But the Fiat does surprisingly well...For girls car!

Just a random car in the scrap yard? Nope...This is my mates old car!

Last Term Tomorrow

Well, we've just had 2 weeks off 6th form. Go back tomorrow! I really can't be arsed to go though, partly because this 2 weeks has been one of the best I've had so far! I've spent around 7 nights with Megan...and about 10 days! Good times. I can't really fault this holiday, at all! Been to Sheffield, put on far to much weight and lots of other stuff. Though the best stuff by far was seeing Megan...

The other day, I saw that 'Kick-Ass' film, it quite literally kicked ass...It was awesome! The best film I've seen at the cinema in ages! Definitely worth a watch! 10/10!

Wednesday, 7 April 2010

Sheffield.

Yesterday I went to Sheffield. We originally went to Meadowhall in the car but got the train from Meadowhall. The trains on the Northern service range from 'reasonably nice' to 'oh my god..was this crappy thing built by half-blind drunken Russians in the early 1950s?'

We got a bad one. It really was extremely old, looked like it was falling to pieces, was dank, dark. It really was indescribable. Not much you can do about it though. Thank god we've got East Midlands rail in our county!

Sheffield itself was alright though.

FACT IV.

Another set of random and most likely useless facts.

1.) The oldest Goldfish on record lived for 43 years.

2.) In Baltimore, Maryland (USA) it is illegal to take a Lion to the Cinema.

3.) The most popular Male dog names are Max and Jake.

4.) If Facebook were a country, it would be the 5th most populated country on earth, behind China, India, the USA and Indonesia.

5.) On average, one Ford F-Series pick-up truck is sold every minute.

6.) The most scrapped car in the UK is the Vauxhall Astra MKII.

7.) Cats sleep for an average of 16-18 hours per day.

8.) The Mitsubishi Starion was so named because the Australian developers misheard the word 'Stallion' from the Japanese company.

9.) There are at least 170 Billion galaxies in the Universe.

10.) Middlesbrough is the worst place to live in the UK as of 2007. Mansfield is 9th, and Nottingham is 4th.

Monday, 5 April 2010

I have a serious problem.

As the title suggests, I have a problem. I now can't stop drawing tanks, crushing cars. It's like a disease! I've drawn 3 in less than a week and a half! I know it's very sad, but I've had people say "It doesn't matter as long as you enjoy it". I have to agree, but still...Could be counted as a problem.

Also, earlier I was reading Facebook and saw a girl who said "2010 has been shit". Now, this girl is spoilt, very much so. She's looking to get a Fiat 500 as her first car. All her clothes are designer. Sure, bad things have happened, but I know people who have had worse things this year. Now, how can you say '2010 is shit' when in actual fact it's not been so far! This year has barely started, who knows, it may change. I personally think it's been a great year so far, even if I've had one or two seemingly tedious days.

My best friend Debbie had a death of a close family member occur this year, and yet she seems to be holding up fine, not going around saying this year has been 'shit'. Man up woman! Pull yourself together, follow Debbie's example.

Forza 3

Forza 2

Forza 1

Forza Motorsport

Forza Motorsport is one of the very best game-series on the Xbox, and definitely the best racing series. I'd personally say it was better than Gran Turismo, but that's just me.

The series began in 2005 with Forza Motorsport, released on the Xbox only. It contained well over 200 cars, which whilst not as many as Gran Turismo, they were more detailed. They also could be highly tuned, and be given a custom paint job using 'vinyls' etc...

The second in the series was released in 2007 for the Xbox 360. It had much better graphics both on the cars, and on the tracks. The game also included more content, such as more cars and tracks. However many types of race (Point-To-Point) had been removed. The ability to customise cars and create custom paint-jobs were still included.

The final(?) game in the series was released in 2009, again for the Xbox 360. It has slightly improved graphics on cars and tracks. It also contained more extensive damage physics (Cars could roll over). It contained yet more cars, and tracks...as well as the implementation of the 'point-to-point' races, and drag races.

In the end, Forza 1 and 3 were the best, and Forza 2 was still a very, very good game. All round a 10 out of 10 if you want something more that isn't as realistic as Gran Turismo 4/5, yet more realistic than Project Gothem Racing 4.

I also cleaned the Subaru today! So now it's all nice and shiny! Great! I had been asked to for several months, but the weather hasn't been good enough really. Took a few photos of the car too.

Fargo

I love this film. I watched it the other day with Megan. I'd not seen it since I was on Holiday, in London...in 2006! A long, long time ago!
It's about a bloke who needs money and stages the kidnapping of his wife...after which pretty much everything goes wrong! It's not meant to be funny, but it really is!

11.11

I keep looking at my phone at one specific time! Every morning at some point I'll look at a clock somewhere, be it my watch, my phone, the computer, etc...But I keep catching it at 11.11! I have no idea why either though. It's just so weird. It's also quite annoying!

11.11

Immigration.

Let me tell you now, I have nothing, against people from other countries moving into England. In fact, I think that their move here brings a wave on new culture to our old little country and makes it a better place.
I also, would like you to know I'm not racist, and some of my very good friends are from ethnic backgrounds, even my granddad came from Ukraine.
And I do not support the views of the BNP or Nick Griffin. I do not wish for any immigrants to get sent to their home countries.

But, there's one little thing that gets on my nerves about illegal immigrants. If they're let into the country, to then start reaping benefits of the benefit system in England, how are we going to make that money back? We're just spending more money funding yet another family which means less tax-payer money for other important services, like health, and the Police.

It is now reported that 5 out of every 10 immigrants into the UK have no VISA, no passport, no ID. And that's bad! So, how do they get into England?
Well, this starts off with the Italian Mafia. They run a massive human trafficking operation over the sea in their high powered, high speed ships. Their faster and more modern than the Italian Police ships, so can outrun them. These immigrants are taken from the ships, and places in the back of lorries in Italy, and moved out all the way through France to the channel tunnel. Then, they're in England. Hey presto, they're ready to work.
Businesses thrive on these low-paid immigrants, who can do jobs for a fraction of the price.

I don't think these illegal immigrants should be forced out of the country. No, they're here now, and it is against their human rights. However I do think they all should be given VISA's, passports and an identity, and then made to work for at the least minimum wage. They can pay taxes then. It makes life better for everyone. Security should be improved, 'cause then all immigrants would have a VISA, passport and an identity already.

Like I said, I'm not racist by far, I just want a better life for everyone, no matter what colour, nationality or race!

Pole Shifts in 2012?!

according to scientists, the earth could suffer from a 'Pole-Shift' within the next few years. This is where the Poles (North & South Poles) will shift. This means that a place like New York could become the new North Pole, and a place like Alaska could be on the equator. Unlikely? It's happened before. If you look at ancient rock you'll see how the continents where once in different places.
There's evidence that such a thing could happen soon, the continents are moving slowly...
In fact, at one point much of England was under the ocean!

Sounds fun? No. If this did happen there would be Armageddon. Massive Earthquakes would occur...Volcanoes would explode, and they would be HUGE, and very, very big Tsunamis would happen, causing widespread flooding, and then this water would freeze at the new North and South Poles, where ever this may be.
Much like that film, The Day After Tomorrow.

But, don't worry, these Pole Shifts take millions of years to occur. So it's not like they'll happen in our lifetime, or our children, or our children's children etc...

Wheeler Dealers!

I really do love this programme. It makes me glad to see some old cars have potential...and shows that even mundane ones can actually be really interesting. One of my favourite episodes was one earlier, with a Bentley Mulsanne Turbo. The final outcome is so good in that episode, it's nearly unreal!

Happy Birthday!

Happy birthday Megan. Hope you have a really good day babe :) xxx

Daydreaming

I keep having a nice, yet odd 'Daydream' of me, driving people around in my car. Usually when walking to and from school with my music blazing. The car changes each time. I've had one about everything from a Honda Civic Type R, all the way to an Audi A4.
I have no idea why I keep having this thought, it really is quite bizarre. I hope soon though I'll be able to get driving lessons. I've got the money for a photo for my Provisional, just need to wait till Saturday to get my photo now! Then hopefully I can start driving.

Law

My Law teacher seems to believe that I'd do better if I dropped my A2 Law course, and joined an AS Law course. I'm not sure whether I would or not, so I suppose I can only wait and find out. In the end, I still think I'd be better off dropping the subject...But we'll see.

Monday, 15 March 2010

End of the road?

So...It looks like it's the end of the road for Law.

Earlier I got asked by my teacher if I wanted to resit the exams I'd failed. I said no. If I did, by June I'd have to take 8 exams. My teacher said that if I didn't resit my exams, I wouldn't get an overall grade for Law, so really there was no point in carrying on the subject.

In the end, I've failed Law 3 times already. If I haven't passed by now, I very much doubt I'll ever pass...I'm going pretty much nowhere. It's just an extra burden on me as a whole. Plus, the whole subject is getting me down now. Perhaps it is better to call it a day. Leave it be, and just study other things. I've got my college course next year, so it's not like I'm going to lose out by dropping it. I suppose we'll have to see what my mentor says tomorrow!

The unmovable man

Me and my best friend, Debs, said we should start detailing our little escapades. Writing them down so we can laugh in the future! Well, I think I'm gonna start with today's little 'incident'!

I went to the tip with my dad. I'd cleaned my bedroom and had lots of things that needed taking, including an old TV, and 10 metres of telephone wire.
Whilst I was there, I saw a man. He didn't move, or talk. Just stared. I found this really odd. I got closer an closer, wondering why he didn't actually say anything! I got even closer. Still he didn't move. It took me absolutely ages to realise he wasn't actually a real person. It was a mannequin! Bad times!

Results day!

I got my results for my Janurary A2 6th form exams earlier. I did terribly to be quite honest.

Law: 3 U’s
ICT: U
Sociology: D

Whilst I did badly, I’ve got to be honest I’m not entirely bothered by it. I mean, what is the worst that would happen? I know what job I want, a place in the Police Force (for which there are no grade boundaries). I’ve already been accepted into college on a Public Services course next year too. So, even though I’ve not passed my A-Levels, all hope is not lost. There’s life after exams.

In fact, the only thing I’m slightly annoyed at, is that I’ve spent 2 years doing this course at 6th form, and have come out of it all with no real grades. Yeah sure, there’s life after exams but it sure doesn’t help that I’ve spent 2 years of my life doing nothing of importance.
In the end though, I can’t join the police properly until I’m 21, and I’ll be 20 when I finish my college course…Plus I’ve been getting EMA so I can still see Megan every week. It’s win-win really…! Anyway, anything that you do adds to you as a person.

Boredom

Lately I've been really fickle. I could do with redefining my interests really, as lately I've found little enjoyment in the things I used to like doing with my spare time.
It's incredibly annoying though...I'll try and do a drawing, or go on the Xbox, or on MSN and just find myself getting really annoyed, simply because I'm bored constantly!
Doesn't help I'm not very adventurous when it comes to my interests though. Part of me wishes it was the older days, when I was little. Then I could play for hours on end with my toy-cars on the carpet or in the back garden.
Speaking of playing outside, I wish it was warmer. I can't go out often or too late recently, it's been far too cold! So I've got to be cooped up inside to keep warm, either that or freeze to death outside!

I suppose really our only hope is that it warms up sometime soon by quite a lot, then I can go out, take photos, hang out with friends, etc...And all will be good with the world.

1998-2009 Ford Crown-Victoria

I've always liked these...A lot! No idea why though. They're just your average cars, but Taxi-Cabs and the U.S. Police departments seem to love them!

Money

I just checked the National Rail website. Currently, I'm spending £12 per ticket to get down to my Girlfriends house...I thought it may be cheaper to get a season-ticket for a year...Boy was I wrong.

If I go down there every week, for 1 whole year I'll be spending £624 on the train journeys. That's at least...However..If I buy a season ticket, I'll pay £1,800 for a whole year! I'll lose well over £600!

I thought, what If I get a rail-card. They cost about £26, but save me 1/3rd on rail prices...Which over 1 year means I'll save £208...SO, I'll only be spending around about £416 a year...Not too bad, if I do say so myself! Think of what I could do with an extra £208!!

Next Blog!

After clicking the 'next blog' button a few times, I noticed something. Blogspot is entirely covered by 'families' giving people -most likely friends and family, an insight on how they, and their children are...That and 'arty' types who insist on showing the world their latest creation.

It all seems a world away from what my Blog is actually like...It just seems like most people blog about things that really matter, but I just write about anything and everything...or so it seems!

Like the other day...I mentioned the 1994 BMW 5-series over 3 times!

Maybe I should write about more meaningful things? Or maybe my style suits me?

I admit it...

Okay, I'll admit it, I need a haircut! I should be getting one by tomorrow time. I have got an appointment tomorrow, so we'll see what happens...
No idea what I'll have done though. Probably just a trim...When in doubt, go for the same thing you've done these last few years!

Heavy Rain?

I saw an advert for a game called 'Heavy Rain'...To be honest, I wondered what the smeg that was all about. It made no sense, neither did the adverts for it. I can only describe it as a film-like-game.
Wikipedia said... "The player interacts with the game by performing actions highlighted on screen related to motions on the controller, and in some cases, performing a series of quick time events during fast-paced action sequences..."
Is it me, or does that sound like every game? I'm confused by this...Very confused.

Car crash?

One of my girlfriend's friends earlier told of a car-crash her cousin had been involved in. See if you can spot the inconsistencies.

"My cousin was at a junction, not over the line, when his car was hit from the side by another car which must have been travelling at about 100mh...It caused my cousin's to flip over 3 or 4 times. The other guy just backed away and drove off. In court the other guy said he liked smashing peoples cars..."

Can you spot them? Well, a.) If he wasn't over the line he couldn't have been hit at a junction, unless the other idiot was travelling on the pavement!
b.) If the other guy had crashed into another car at 100mph, both of them would have been killed. No if's and's or but's. They'd be dead.
c.) It wouldn't flip the other car. And definitely not more than once. The frame would have bended, the entire chassis would have been completely mangled, but it wouldn't have flipped. There was no way for the car to become airborne in such an event. NO way.
d.) Just saying the rest was true up until now (It isn't), the other car couldn't have 'driven' away. It does take a lot to destroy a car, but it wouldn't be so much destroyed as obliterated. There'd be barely a recognisable car left! At a combined speed of 100mph between too Trucks Mythbusters found that the car had almost been pancaked.

So, if you'd like to tell us the real story? Please, go ahead!

Why do I hate...Tuesdays?!

I really hate Tuesdays, with a passion. It's the one day of the week I really can't be arsed with. Yeah, sure, I get an extra lie-in for a few hours, but because my lesson begins at about 1pm...finishing at 3.30, I don't really have time to do anything...At all. I could go on my Xbox, but I'd probably become immersed, and unable to detract from it...
...I can go and watch TV, but have you seen daytime TV? I'd rather shoot myself in the feet, to be perfectly honest.
Wednesday's are better, at least it doesn't hide the fact that I'll be at school till 1.25pm
And Thursdays are best....I don't have anything in the afternoon...Just a lesson in the morning! On the bright side though, at least the weather outside is really nice...So you can tell it's Spring ;)

Evolution of 5

M5?

A gorgeous car...But not so sure about the bright blue paint...Maybe a Navy blue, or a black?

1994 BMW 5 Series

I don't know why, but recently I've just been so, well obsessed with the 1990-1995 BMW 5 Series. It's a good car, but is it good enough to be obsessed with, especially to the degree I am?
I've seen them in many differing films, most notably Ronin, where it was the 'bad-guys' car. It ended up getting a tad-bit destroyed.
Nowadays the Beemer, is a very cheap car. I can see why in some respects, but I still do love them to bits. I wouldn't mind getting one at some point after I've passed my driving test...

SPRING

It's officially the first day of spring today! Finally! Winter seems to have dragged on for what feels like absolutely ages! No doubt it's been one of the best winters of all time though. I actually can't wait for summer now. I love summer, so much!
In other news, it's only 10 days til I get my A-Level results! I'm kind of looking forward to it now I think about it!

Also, it's only just under 3 weeks til Megan's birthday!

Scrappage Scheme

Okay, I know it's an old scheme, but I'm going to comment on it anyway!
I really don't get the Governments new scrappage scheme. Sure, they pay £2,000 towards the cost of your new car, for your old one, but why?!

Firstly, the people who, in this financial climate, can afford a new car don't tend to own one that is more than 10 years old. It seems pointless if most of the target market don't qualify for the money off.
What if, someone who is in the market for a new car, finds an old one for about £500, then has it scrapped for the £2,000? Well, the government got sneaky, and said that the previous owners, had to own the doomed car for more than 1 year. What's the likely-hood that the owners of a car more than 10 years old would have owned it for more than a year?

Secondly, the cars being scrapped must have tax, and an MOT. So, these cars being crushed are fine? Why would you scrap a car that's in good condition, and has a few years left? It actually has a negative effect on the economy, as the price of used cars is going up!

The idea of the scheme was to encourage people to buy new cars, which means more money for the people, who already have money...And to save the environment...Which is as much bullshit as the idea of 'Global Warming' itself...
The entire process of creating a car creates more pollution than running a used car for the rest of it's life cycle.

Another reason I hate the scheme is more of a sentimental one. If you owned an old Porsche 944, or Fiat Coupe, and you've been trying to sell it for a long time, when someone offers you £2,000 for it, you'd take their hands off. But would you feel comfortable knowing your classic car was destined to be crushed into a small cube. Then shredded into fist-sized chunks? I can't see how someone could do that to a modern-classic. Really..

So the new scheme is just bollocks? Yeah!

Le Saboteur

I've been pretty much hooked on my new game, The Saboteur for a few weels now. My parents barely see me any more, I'm pretty sure they think I might have died...In all fairness, the game is actually, really, really good. But, a little things do bother me about it. Not enough to ruin the game-play though.
Because the developers ran into financial trouble whilst creating the game, it comes to an overly abrupt end. No real conclusions to anything. It all seems a little cold towards the end. Now, this isn't a big problem, unless you were hoping the game lasted a little longer, (which I was) but as things go, I suppose we'll just have to live with it. The ending is still quite climactic, but a cliff hanger ending? In a game?

Secondly, trains. They're literally invincible. After throwing all you have, including a few old-timey RPG's, at them they're still perfectly fine! Why Pandemic?! Or more, how, can a train stay in perfect condition even when faced with a large explosion? It's all rather odd...There are a few other little things, but none of the problems in this game are bad enough to warrant me to think of it in any less of a good way!

6 months of Nokia

Today, I've had my Nokia 5800 XpressMusic for 6 whole months. I've never had any real problems with it either. A few small little annoyances, but that's just about it.
The camera is good, but it seems to be a lot worse in dark situations, though in most situations it seems to think that it is adequately dark enough to need the flash. Other than that, it serves me just great!
Hopefully well enough to serve me for the next year and a half...Though, I will need to get a new stylus for my phone...I lost mine!

Lights...Camera...Action!

I'm in a proper "Film" mood. I really want to immerse myself in a good, long film, that'll let me forget about everything for a few hours. Problem is, I don't own a film that can do that to me, well, I don't own many anyway.
I've seen a few really good films lately, but by far the best, recent film I've seen was L.A. Confidential. It was really good. Watching Die Hard 4.0 let me forget myself a fair bit too...
Bruce Willis is a good actor though. He can play a pretty good 'tough guy' role, without going overboard...Usually.
Robert De Niro is also a really good actor. He always seems to play the 'Italian American Gangster' though. He fits the role well though, just his style I suppose. He was good in Ronin.

I have been quite immersed in something lately. It was that game I bought, The Saboteur. I've played through it twice since I bought it, which was about 2 weeks ago! Feels unreal really. I mean, that's one play through a week, and I'm on my third time around! Yes, I know. I'm sad.

Ubuntu!

I've now gotten rid of Microsoft Windows on my Laptop. I got Ubuntu 9.04 instead... It's a pretty good system. Works reasonably well, usually. I just need to perfect it really. Can't imagine that'd take long though. So, this time next week, and I'll be sorted! (Probably)

A new Blog?

I think I may start a new blog. I was told to try Tumblr. Apparently it's meant to be good, but I'm not sure. I could try it, and use it as more of an 'updates' blog for a while, and keep this more meaningful. But, who knows. In the end, Only time will tell. I could even use this blog as the 'Lists Blog'...Or use the other blog as the 'Lists Blog'...
I could try it for a few weeks. Maybe after tomorrow, when I get my Ubuntu installed.

Bye Bye Windows

Earlier my computer came up with the 'Your Pre-Release trial version of Windows 7 will expire in 7 days" warning. I'm not really surprised. I've had it since about May, or June time. Quite a while. When it expires, I'll have to go back to Linux.
I'm quite looking forward to it actually. I can't wait to be able to use my laptop, without Mozilla Firefox crashing, or the laptop just failing epically. I've had nearly 100 BSoD's because of this OS.

So, not long, and then Linux will be back. Part of me will miss Windows 7 though.

Bullseye!

To start off: An apology. Sorry I've not blogged much recently! It occurred to me earlier that I hadn't written a blog in about a week! So here's a big one ;)

Now then. I had a really, really good weekend with Megan again, but it was very, let's just say, weird.
To start off the weirdness, my EMA hadn't gone into my bank account, kind of annoying really. I did have enough money to go to Nottingham, where I met up with Megan again though. Whilst there, it did feel reminicant of the very first time I met her, seeing as Nottingham Train Station was where we had first met.
Then, we got on the train bound for Leicester. This is where things got REALLY weird. Our conducter cracked a few jokes at our expense to start off with. "I've never seen Brothers and Sisters so close!" was one, then, for nearly no reason at all, he did a 'magic' card trick on us. We were both thinking "What the hell? Go away, this is awkward mate!"
Then, in Leicester, I went to what is possibly the most 'posh' up-market cinema ever. 'Cinema Du-Lux' it was called. A bit, well a lot OTT, but otherwise nice.
We had gone to see Wolfman, it was average, but not great. American Werewolf in London was still better.

After that, we went back to hers.
Sifting through magazines we found a series of..."Alluring" phone-sex hotlines, some of which were hilarious. "A dirty Granny needs a good hard seeing to!" said one, horrifingly. Made me wonder why the hell people would pay to hear some old woman get off, or at least talk about it. Breasts dangling down by their knees, cobwebbed over in all the wrong places, gross. Very, very gross.

After, being vaugely horrified, and crying in laughter, it was time to go home. Big shame. But my day hadn't finished getting weirder. On the Leicester station platform a random man came upto me, and gave me a survey to fill in and hand back to him. I had to wonder why he picked me for the survey, and not another one of the 100+ people at the station. I filled it in nonetheless.

When I pulled into Woodhouse, I was greeted with 2 things. A.) Snow, quite alot of it. Odd, seeing as in Syston it'd all melted. And B.) 4 fire-engines, putting out a fire only about 100 metres up the road. What an odd sight I thought. Not the normal type of thing to be greeted with at home. Not even sure what was on fire, to be quite honest.

When I finally got home, mum and dad had made a very, very odd purchase. Any ideas? No. Well, they'd randomly gone out, and bought a dart-board. Riiiiight.
What a strange weekend! Had a great time though :)

The Sabotuer

On Friday, I went to Gamestation, and bought a brand new game. The Saboteur. It's really, really good.
I've got the Xbox 360 version, and it cost a whopping £35.00, alot for someone who barely has any money. Worth every penny though.
It's set in Nazi Occupied Paris, in 1939. You play an ex-race car driver/mechanic named Sean. You basically just play the game through his own eyes, helping people who wish to rid the city of Nazi's, or at least get rid of their own problems regarding the Krauts.
The replay value though is immense. The city is huge, and in all likely hood you'll never be able to rid the city entirely of all the Sniper-posts, officers, tanks, etc. Though you can try!

Also, the graphics, whilst done in a 'cartoonish' style are also very good. Very detailed. One of the best games I've played in a good long time.

Valentines day

Valentines day has now been and gone. It was my first with Megan. It was an amazing day, I gave her a little necklace, made from White Gold. It also had a little diamond inside. It was meant to be about £116, though because of the sales, it was £61. I also got her a copy of her favourite film, Chicken Run.
She got me a Titanium Ring. It's really nice, as well as a scrap-book, much like the one I made, and a big-card.
A pretty good day all-in-all!

Movies!

I'm currently sat here watching Die Hard 4.0. It's a good film, if a tad bit, unrealistic.
There are a few things I've never understood about these movies where 'national security' is threatened though.
Firstly, the bad guys are always middle aged men, who are rich and have a shit load of money. But, what would they gain by being a terrorist? If lowering the stock market is what they need, well, after they've 'stolen' all the money they'll have trouble using it. It'd be devalued.

Secondly, they usually always create an inordinate amount of carnage. I mean, really? What would be the point of using a truck or series of large explosives to demolish a building? By filling out the correct forms and hacking the correct computers they could probably do it with an actual demolition team...And using a truck to take out anything smaller than a Chevrolet Suburban? You could get the same effect from using a large van...

And thirdly, they always use expensive Audi's, and BMW's as their tail cars. But why? If anything happens to them you'll be spending thousands to repair it...When you can pick up an old escort for £500, or an old Taurus in America for only $800...
Hell, an old Caprice will only put you back a few hundred dollars. It just doesn't make sense...

Some people...

My sister does cooking at GCSE, and today after making a cake for her coursework (That was A* standard), some little 12 year old douche pushed her over and made her ruin her cake, and graze all her leg! Little fucker.
The same kid also lives only 4 or so houses up the road, and often bullies my brother and sister...As well as throwing things at the house.
I'm really tempted to hurt him. He's such a little shit. Him and his retarded sister. Unfortunately I can't, because of his stupid age, and the fact it's illegal. Shame the law isn't "an eye for an eye" anymore. Really is...

College. Part XIII?

Today I had my college interview, for my Public Services.
I got a place there. An 'unconditional' offer which means I've got a place, and don't need to worry about my GCSE grades, seeing as I've already got them.
The course looks quite good. Go places, like Army Barracks, and RAF bases, etc...

It seems a little strange about how things have changed, career wise these last few months.
It was only about 4 or 5 months ago that I was at the RAF careers office, and now I'm going to college next year. I suppose we'll just have to see what the next step is...

mobile blog!

right then! This is the very first blog i've written, on my phone! Fun times!

Time flies when you're having fun

It only seems like yesterday I blogged on this thing. Truth is, I've been having a lot of fun in the mean time.
On Saturday, I got slightly, well, very drunk at a party. Highlight of the night would probably be not being able to see, but still getting the make and model of every car right! Well, not highlight. Just something I'm proud of...
And, so, apart from that, I've spent most of my time with Megan. I do miss her after though. In all honesty, I can't wait till next month, until I can see her again. That will be great! But until then, I've just got to wait...Not long though. Hey I can stay over next valentines day! Hurrah!

Seventeen....And a half!

Not long ago it occured to me, I am, today, 17 and a half. Dead on. 6 months since, and til my birthday!
That means in 1 week, it will be mine and Megan's 6 month anniversary!

In other news, I went on Fallout 3 for the first time in ages today. I enjoyed it. I'd not played the game for over a month, quite a while really, yet it's still an amazing game, one of the best I've ever played. More than enough to keep me hooked. I would invest in getting a new game soon, but unfortunately I can't afford it as of yet.

Though tomorrow, I should get my EMA bonus. I really hope I do. I don't want to be waiting around for it like a douche. That wouldn't be good, at all!

I need a new TV

I noticed a while back my TV was getting a little fuzzy. That's not good! Not good at all! I therefore need a new TV, like, badly!
I might go and see if I can pick up a cheap second hand one at some point. I know I can't afford a new one, for sure. Walking past a second-hand shop earlier I saw a cheap one, it was only £20, not sure if it was any good though. Have to find out at some point...

Also, earlier I saw Katy today, for the first time in what was over 6 months. It was quite a good day out, and I saw what I should get for Megan's Valentines day present. Though, I suppose I can't really say what it was on here ;)

It occured to me the other day, Tomorrow I'm exactly 17 and a half.
Odd to think about, but oh well.

Cinema

Lately I've really wanted to go to the cinema. I'm not sure why, or what to see, but I've just had a massive craving to go. The last film I saw there though was 2012, which was alright, but was also incredibly unrealistic, to be honest.
Though, there are loads of new films that might be fun to watch. I've heard great reviews of Avatar, and Daybreakers.

Problem is though, I can't afford the cinema. I can't waste money on films and such. I've got to save money, for seeing Megan, getting her a present, etc etc. I'll just have to see what happens soon!

Contemplating.

Don't you just hate it when no matter how hard you try with someone, no matter how much effort you put into them, no matter how many hours you spend pining over them, and heeding their every word, they never ever return your gestures. When they do, it hurts. A lot, More anything.

Every single day I wait, I think. I say nice things, I do nice things, I do everything to make people happy, yet it's still not enough. Sometimes, I even wonder if they think about me when I'm gone. When I'm not there, do I exist to them? I doubt it. Certainly seems like I don't.

People can say they care all they like. They can act like every single thing they do is someone, in some sort of 'psycho-drum' benefiting you, or that they do care and try their best. But sometimes, their 'best' just doesn't seem like they're even trying. If they are going to say they care, then surely they should act like I matter, even in the slightest.

Not once have I let someone down. Not once have I tried to hurt someone, or not done what they wanted me to, yet it always seems that when I want something to happen, or for them to do something it just doesn't happen. Why can't it? Or am I not worth the time or effort any more? Who the fuck knows.

Something I drew earlier.

Dreams

I keep having weird dreams. By weird dreams, I mean ones that are actually bat-shit insane.
The one that started it all off was at least explicable, but still was just, weird! My best friend's mum; Debbie's Mum, had a big go at me, telling me that if I carried on talking about her in a lewd way she'd "call the police" ...Odd, and to add to the mystery, almost every single one I've had since has been weirder, and weirder.
Other things that have happened in my dreams include; A brief attempt of euthanasia - for no real reason. Living in a casino/hotel/shopping centre - in which I defied the laws of gravity. Being chased by a bunch of red-necks - over £5. And one dream where a lion was on my back garden, trying to eat my dog! With everything in between too!
It just makes you wonder what is going on in my head, especially at night. Oh well. It could be worse I suppose, could be dreaming about Susan Boyle, ahh!

I worked it out!!

I was thinking the other day, and I worked a few things out in my head.
Today, me and Megan have been in a relationship for 26 weeks exactly. It's nearly 6 months now.
(And yes, that does work out to be correct, whilst there are only 52 weeks in the year, the later months seem to be longer than the earlier months...)

I also thought, just how weird the world looked on Google Earth. Everything looks so odd. It's weird how things can look from above, from a plane. In the end though I'll never get to see my home town like that, other than at my computer. Oh well. Life goes on, etc etc.

Monday, 25 January 2010

Hmm...

Whilst in my law lesson, I wondered to myself, "I wonder what my thoughts are like"...But I meant, what my thoughts were like, before I processed them. I suppose there is only one way to find out. All the rest of this blog is due to me not really thinking about what I write...For once.

Hello i am ryan, ryan i am i like cars. do you? i can imagine you do even if it is just to get to places with one. i'm quite bored right now, and i am fed up. haha. wonder what megan is doing now, though i suspect she is still in school. to be honest i often wonder if she thinks about me as often as i do her.
lol, want to grow a beard, though i'm not sure if it would look good. on the contrary i do believe that if i had a car i could look infinately cooler. meant to be in sociology right now but i'm too tired to go. so i can't be bothered. i would very much like to be in the police later when i'm older. not sure if i can though.

got peer-pressured to go to the gym earlier. said no. stood my ground. i'm too tired for that shit.

seemed like my friend debbie was a little annoyed with me last night. not sure if she is or not though. i suppose only time will tell, not that much matters to me right now.
i wish i found more interest in hobbies and stuff. i'm getting bored lately, i do find some interest in things that i used to, but not enough to keep me occupied for long. i seem to be getting fickle lately. when i was little i was pretty easily amused. not anymore.

Drawing

I was thinking again earlier (Yes, I know, bad idea), and I thought, "Maybe I should start uploading what I draw", so, I think I will! So, if I start tomorrow, you'll have to endure!
So, look forward to that! Until tomorrow though!

Body clock

I think my body clock is ruined. Especially after the last 6 or so months.
I've been going to bed later, and waking up later in the day. It's not good really. On some days, I go to sleep later, and wake up early, or on time. Meaning I'm loosing out on sleep all round...It's not good, at all. Ah well. I suppose I can only try to make it right again.

1 exam to go!

Well, there's only 1 exam left. That's going to be Law, on Thursday. I'm going to be very, very glad when I can get it out of the way...
In other news, I've gotten waaay to interested in the Explosm.net comic, 'Cyanide and Happiness'...It's really, very, very great!

Ah the wonders of the internet. So much, yet we're always bored, haha!

Thursday, 21 January 2010

Chill!

Well, with 3 exams down and 2 left to go, I'm beginning to wonder why people are getting so worked up about exams, etc. Sure, to some people they may be important, but in all fairness, they're actually quite, well, pointless.
There is alot more to life than exams, and there certainly is more enjoyment to be had when you're not stressing yourself out over them.

Think for 5 minutes. What is the worst case scenario? The worst thing that could happen if you fail an exam? It's hardly like your family will be shot, or killed. I very much doubt your house would catch fire. In fact, the worst case scenario is this. You resit the exam. Big deal. Life goes on. It's unlikely that I'm going to pass anything this year. But I feel safe in the knowlege that, no matter how badly I do, as long as I try, I'll be fine. I can go to college next year, get a good grade there, or even a mediocre grade and still go far.
People forget that some of the most influential people in the world came out of school with no grades.
My old maths teacher was dyslexic. He failed his maths GCSE. And look at him now...

So, it still begs the question as to why people are fretting over exams this year. I can see why they might be a little anxious, but worrying to the point at which they are ill? Is that going to help? I very much doubt it.

So what did I do in my last Sociology Lesson before my exam? I chilled out. I took a leaf from everyone elses book for once. I drew a few pictures, and flicked through my text book. If I fail tomorrow, I fail. Big deal. Live with it.

Item 43 - Chris

It was only until earlier, when I was flicking back through my Blog that I noticed I'd done one of the items on my list of 'things I have not done'. I noticed number 43: ridden on a High-Speed Train had actually been completed, on more than one occasion. You see, coming back from Megan's house on a Sunday, I have of course had to join a train coming back from London, one of the 'high speed' East Midlands-London St. Pancreas trains.

So, 1 item I have completed, check :)

Cartoons

Yesterday I got told I can draw a detailed picture, but it was often unrealistic, and more 'cartoony' rather than anything else. I quite liked this. It was one of my intentions. I guess I'll just have to take the more cartoony route. For the time being anyway...

I could do with...

I really could do with a car right now. I'm starting to gain more interest in them to be honest. Even if it's a small car, I don't mind. Just something cheap, cheerful, and that doesn't look the business, I don't care. I could always get a better one at a different point really...

...Until then I've just got to live with the knowlege that right now, I don't own a car. Damn shame really.

Blast from the past

The other day I cleaned my room, and for reasons I’m still not entirely sure about, I broke my Xbox 360. The wire that connects it to my TV is broken. Well, I’ve ordered another but still have to wait for it to come.

In the mean time, I’ve dusted off my original Xbox, and played on that instead. Great fun! I got this one in 2004 as a replacement for my older one that I broke, though I got that one in 2002…

Today I played on Driver: Parallel Lines…I used to play on this game, ALOT, but now it seems I rarely touch it. Hell, I’m sure I’ve not played it in over a year! It’s fun though…Wish some of my other old games worked, like Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction…

2 down, 2 to go!

I've finished 2 of my 5 exams now!
Yesterday I had a Law exam, and an ICT exam. I think I can guarantee I've failed the law, but I might only just pass the ICT exam, if I'm very lucky.
In the end we can only wait to find out. I'm not looking forward to results day though. And nor am I looking forward to the 3 exams I've got left...

The advancement of science

I was thinking earlier, why do scientists spend so much time being serious? They spend millions, and their entire lives trying to cure a disease. It's a nobel profession for sure, but surely people would be happier and would enjoy a better quality of life if we live for the moment? So, why don't scientists try to do something 'neat', or 'cool', such as converting some animals into pokemon, or making all the cars insanely nice, etc...
Then, I had a better idea.

What should be done is that all scientists, either from the world, or just the western world should unite and form a union, sort of. This union could be sub-divided into many different catagories, such as Cancer Research, Casual Research (For things designed souly to make us happy), Automotive, Aeronautical, Other health, etc...
Therefore there would be more scientists working in conjunction with one another, helping eachother out, and it is far more likely that things would be resolved better with more scientists working together.

Funding wouldn't be a problem either. It could come from both the governments taxes which, a large amount is used on research anyway, and then could recieve extra help from charitable donations. Therefore, we'd have many scientists working on a large number of differing persuits, and we'd have a lot of funding for these persuits.

It might work. I doubt it'd ever become a reality though.

Exams.

Tomorrow I have 2 of my 5 in total exams. I've got Law (Unit 1) resit which is an hour and a half, and then ICT (Unit 1) resit, which is 2 hours...
Last year I did so badly in my AS-Level exams I've been forced to take resit exams. I really can't be arsed with my exams. They're so boring. I also quite honestly don't really care if I pass or fail. If I can get at least one pass, even an E i'll be a happy man. If not, ah well, it's not the end of the world.

I've always thought exams were a terrible way to test people. What is the point of staying at school pretty much a whole year, just to sum up all you learnt in an hour and a half? And it can be on anything in that subject? Well, that's a load of bollocks. I think an easier system will be to have a series of smaller tests more often, so that the full knowlege of the student can be expressed. Not the half-assed, stressed, rushed essays that are handed in through exams.

Coursework is better, but i still think my idea is the best one.
If i say so myself...

Bebo, Facebook, Myyearbook and more....

It occurred to me last night that I hadn't used my Bebo account in ages. Nor my Myspace account. Infact, I have still yet to put my more recent photos on Bebo, Myyearbook and Myspace. How odd really, I used to be quite upto date with this sort of thing. However, my Facebook account is very much upto date and contains all my most recent photos, etc...
I think, perhaps later I will update all my accounts. It needs to be done at some point, doesn't it!

The Shawshank Redemption

This has to be one of my favourite films. It’s so inspirational. One of those epic movies. It’s amazing how such an experience can change a man. And how such an experience can be endured. The movie itself might be several hours long, but it’s still amazing.

It’s just brilliant. A film I can watch over and over, without ever getting bored.

I like films like that and Forrest Gump. A lot!

Forrest Gump

This is actually an amazing film. One of the best I’ve seen, ever. Makes you think, a little, really. If it’s a tad unrealistic, though parts of it have that gritty realism that only a film based on multiple generations can express.

Parts of it are very inspirational. It also makes you think “Hey, all is not lost.” Some scenes are anyway. Like the one where he saves his army-buddies from the jungle. Only if you try can you do something.

As well as that it’s got one of the best soundtracks to a film ever. Very fitting for a film that is based over several generations.

FORZA

I've gotten really far on Forza Motorsport 3 now. Level 50! The highest level. But most of the races left are the Race-Cars series. I can't tell you how boring I find race-cars in Forza. As a result, I may restart the game, take a different route. It was REALLY good when I first started playing in December.
I also had an idea of how I could get Megan on 3 mobile. I'm going to buy her a cheap phone on the 3 network. Therefore, if she ever needs to call me, or vice versa it'll be free! Which is always good, isn't it! Everyone likes free stuff.

Haircut

I really need a haircut. It's getting way to long right now. I feel like an idiot, walking around with a 15 centermetre fringe. I really do. I look it too.
I'll get it cut as soon as possible. We'll see how long it'll take though!

6th Form

Mum is livid with school right now. My ICT exam is next week.
They said to me that I'd be able to have a lesson between now and then, on Wednesday. My lesson's been cancelled, for seemingly retarded reasons. So, before my ICT resit exam I've not got a single lesson. That's not helpful at all. She's put together everything else from 6th form that's detracted from my education, and now she's writing an angry letter to them, telling them basically that they're terrible and if she can help it no one whom we know will be attending Manor in future.

Good.

Fact III.

The first set of facts from 2010. Lovely.

1.) In 1918, an assassination attempt was made of Lenin. If successful, the Nazis would have been able to invade Russia, then have the man-power to overtake the world as is what they wished.

2.) In 1961, temperatures around the British coast became so low, large parts of the coast/sea froze.

3.) In 1921 55% of the cars in the world were Ford Model T's. A record that has yet to be broken.

4.) Enzo Ferrari originally worked for Alfa Romeo's racing team, but formed Ferrari after him and Alfa had an argument. Ferrari's road cars were originally only created to fund his racing team.

5.) In 70 years, there are 25,644 days.

6.) On average, more tornadoes and hurricanes occur in England than any other country.

7.) The average temperature on earth is 15 degrees Celsius.

8.) Since 1978 at least 37 people have been killed as a result of shaking vending machines.

9.) 13% of the world's population live in deserts.

10.) The most recycled object in the world is the car.

I could do with...

A big 4wd Range Rover, from the late 80's. Not just because of the weather either. It'd also look, VERY cool!

A whole new decade…

It’s hard to believe a new decade has arisen…It’s also hard to believe that one has just passed. So much has happened these last 10 years. It’s amazing really.

2000 – I remember where I was on New years eve, 1999. I was at the house I’m living in now, at a party. I didn’t live here then though. I lived in Bilsthorpe. I can’t really remember much about that year really. Though it was the last year I lived in Bilsthorpe. I’m pretty sure that same year was the ‘Foot & Mouth’ scare.

2001 – Everyone remembers 2001. Simply for 9/11. It was a bad year really. I moved here that year too. In July, a few months before the world trade centre fell. Other than that, I can’t remember that year very well. Then again, I turned 9 that year, so I wouldn’t really…In December though, I cut my arm open. Right to the bone. Still got the scar too.

2002 – 2002…The year Microsoft released their Xbox. I got one that Christmas. I turned 10 that year too. Good times! I also got into year 6 at school. Which would have been my final year at Primary School. In September of 2002, we went on my first holiday abroad. It was to Majorca. A island off the Spanish coast. Fun Times. It’s also the same year we bought our “new” car….A 1994 Citroen ZX Avantage, and scrapped our old one, a 1982 Nissan Sunny. What a year.

2003 – Possibly one of the best years of the decade. 2nd behind 2009. I got into Manor, my comprehensive school. I had a best friend, Greg, who I’d known since 2001/2002 ish, and at first, I loved it. I could walk home on my own, freedom at last! I thought it’d be scary. It wasn’t. I got a phone then, my first. A Sony Ericsson T-610. I actually loved that phone. In December of 2003, we went to Florida. It was the best holiday of my entire life. I’ve never before or since had so much fun. We saw so much, did so many things. If I had the chance to go back, just for a day, I would. In no time. In the news, things did happen. But nothing major, I don’t think. But I was 11….Like I cared about the news.

2004 – This was an odd year. I can’t really remember exactly what happened. It was disappointing to go back to school after such an amazing holiday though. I moved into year 8 in this year. I thought I was the big-man.

2005 – I moved into Year 9 in this year. It was a fun time. Mum and Dad also got their new car. A 1999 Audi A4. Also, my cousin, Elliot was born. I was amazed when it happened. Really I was. But, then there were the July bombings in London. We’d had our first terrorist attack. Bad times. Very bad times…I did, however, discover Mercenaries in this year. An addiction I’ve not been able to get rid of since. What an amazing game. One of those I can actually say has changed my life.

2006 – I made a big choice this year. What my options would be. I chose, Applied Art, Graphics, Applied ICT, Geography and Applied additional science. I also started my B-Tec in engineering in 2006. It was, helpful, not so much fun! But ah well! What can you do really. It’s hard to believe this was nearly 4 years ago, to be honest. I’ve not regretted that decision though. I also went to the British International Motor show 2006. That was literally amazing.

2007 – What a year. I started following car-license plates in this year. From the ‘07 plates onwards. I don’t know why. Just found it fascinating. I also moved from year 10 to year 11 in this year. It was the beginning of the end for my GCSE life. I still hated college, with a passion, but as is life I got on with it. This year I got my bike too. It was a red, dual suspension one, I’ve barely used it. And, I got my first girlfriend this year. Susan. I had another too, Becca. They both were, a bit mental, but I wouldn’t have done anything differently.

2008 – This year really was the beginning of a different life. There are many different times I’ve known I’ve grown. Getting my GCSE’s is one of them. 2 A’s, 3 B’s, 5 C’s and a D. In February I went on a school trip, bringing me closer to those I wanted, and liked. And it brought me closer to friends, but tore me apart from others. I finished my mandatory life at Manor this year. We had Prom, and that was that. No more school. I also chose my subjects for 6th form. Sociology, Law, ICT and Psychology were my options. I liked it, at first but I didn’t know what was in store.
I went to my 2nd Motor show, the 2008 BIMs.
The best bit though, was gaining a best friend. One I could trust. Debs. I also got a laptop for Christmas 2008. I got money from 6th form, it served its uses. Mercenaries 2 came out after 3 years of waiting, impatiently. I met one girl, I almost fell for, and, well that was it. What an odd year. I was so wrapped up in myself though, and my own little world, I don’t really know what went on in the real world. Though, I did decide I wanted in on the Police.

2009 – Here it is. The best year of my life. I’ve always led a reasonably happy life. Even if as a ‘geek’. In January, me and Debbie had a day out in Nottingham never to be forgotten. In March, Mum and dad got their final new car of the decade, the Subaru. I dropped Psychology, after failing most of my A-levels. In July, I found a girl who has changed my life more than anyone, Megan. We’ve been going out since then. She’s pretty much is my life now. I got a blog, and did so much more. I’ve not regretted anything from 2009. I’d say, it’s the best year of my life so far. Who knows what 2010 has in store. We shall see, won’t we!
