Well...I did have one or two things planned this half-term...
I wanted to go and take some photos of Mansfield Woodhouse...But, I just decided that "I can't be arsed"!
So, instead I've been playing Fallout 3 on the Xbox 360...I got quite far it must be admitted! From half-way through the story to the end. Fun times.
I also went into Mansfield with Patrick.
Now today...I really can't be arsed to do...pretty much anything, even get up off my arse!
It's shocking really. I need to clean the house up for the possible arrival of my girlfriend tomorrow. But, that is an if I can get up...
Patrick wants me to go out later, oh joy...I really can't be bothered! But ah well. It'll be okay. It must be a Thursday thing... :/

Nokia 5800 Xpress Music
Well...I've had my Nokia for exactly 1 month now...31 whole days.
When I first got it, my contract cost £20 a month, and i got;
-Nokia 5800 Xpress Music
-Unlimited messages
-200 minutes
-Unlimited internet (Free)
I've not had any problems with it so far. It seems to do the job well enough, the camera is quite sharp and takes quite a few decent photos. Though it must be said that the "auto-flash" seems to think that all situations are adequately dark enough to be needed...this isn't good, equipecially if you're trying to be incognito.
The music player, i must admit is very good. It seems to be able to play music all day long and still remain charged almost completely. Also, the headphones have yet to break. Always good.
Coverage is very good. I'd heard bad reports about 3G mobile...but I've barely lost signal, at all!
Always good. The internet coverage is also good. In all, the phone is very good. It will last me a long time. Hopefully, the full 2 years that my contract is for...1 month down...23 to go!

Half-Term!
Hurrah! It's half term at last!
This is the very first half term of my 2nd Sixth Form year; Year 13!
So...Looks like I need to plan a few things to do over this half term, do you not agree?
Well, my girlfriend, Megan should be coming to my house on Friday evening/afternoon, so before she comes down that morning I'm going to go into Nottingham, to the Nottinghamshire Recruitment Centre of the RAF to get information on jobs within the Royal Air Force...Hey, if all goes well, I might not have to endure 6th form for much longer!
So, what else is there to do this week?
Well, I could complete task number 1 on Jerry; The list of things to do; Take photographs of Mansfield Woodhouse and the surrounding area. I could do this, and then open a Flickr account to upload these photos. It'll give me something to do, for about a day or so. 3 more days to plan...Hmm...Guess I'll just have to think of more things to do this week as it goes on!

The RAF
Well..Today I decided to look into an idea my parents suggested a while back.
I went onto the RAF website, www.raf.mod.uk, and searched for the jobs. I took a personality quiz to aid my search.
Well, I did find some interesting finds. For example, a RAF Aerospace Systems Operator...
The starting pay is £17,000 a year. I need 2 GCSE's grad A-C (FYI: I have 10...And a B-TEC in Engineering). The contract is 9 years, which, if I join at about 18 means I'll be about 27 when I leave.
Similar jobs in the civillian world are; Air-Traffic Controllers, and other careers of a similar pursuit. Though I think the experience in dealing with communications within the RAF mean I could find it quite easy to join the Police force.
Naturally, this isn't the only option, though it does seem like quite a good one, simply because of the experience and the ability to say to employers "Hey, I've got experience, with the RAF"
And how cool would it be if my kids went to school, and said to their friends "Daddy was in the RAF...but now he's in the Police Force/Fire Service etc..."
Hm, I think I'll have to get in touch with the people down at the Nottingham recruitment centre...

Good mood gone bad
I was in a really good mood earlier. Everything felt pretty damn good. It was abit nippy, yes. I was a little bored, yes...But I had Facebook, and the blog to keep me occupied, and my girlfriend was texting me. At any rate, I was in a good mood.
Then, tonight, simply killed it.
Things got off to a rocky start in 6th form. I got there, on time as usual. Went and waited outside my classroom for the class before to finish. When it did, I went and sat in, and of course waited for the rest to arrive. Usual day.
Of course, I had no idea just how boring that lesson was going to be. Miss Cooke, my Law teacher, began reading some crappy question sheet out. I think I lost track then, seeing as the next thing I remember doing was realising it was halfway through my law lesson, with the teacher still yacking at us about the question sheet in her boring Doncaster tone of voice.
We then went into the computer room. Oh how fun...Not.
I don't ever think I've been as bored as I was there, waiting for my goddamn teacher to tell us we could go for the day. I mean, really...She took forever to finish her crappy meeting. When we did leave I was bored witless on my walk home by myself (For half the journey). But the walk from Scotswood to my house does do that to you. After a while, you just get used to the boringness. It began to rain whilst I was walking home too. Fun. But...this is pretty much where the unfortunate, just turned bad.
I got into the house. No change there. Before I had left this morning I'd left a note to my brother and sister to put the washing from the washing machine into the tumble drier. No biggie, really. But, they can't do that can they. Oh no. Not at all.
Then I looked in the sink. It was FULL of blue water, right to the brim. Upon asking my two siblings what the smeg was going on, they couldn't tell me. Laura, had instead of trying to clean it up, just left it for me to sort it all out. Thanks, Sis.
Of course, I hadn't noticed that the back of the kitchen towards the door was almost entirely flooded with about half a centremetre of water. No. I cleaned that too. Greeaat!
After about half an hour of soaking up water with an old beah towel, mum and dad came home. They decided to give me their bad news. "My debit card has been cancelled, Ryan. It's been cloned. I can't use it until I get a new one"...
Now, at the best of times this is not what you want to hear. The words, Debit card, cloned, and cancelled are never good words to be used in the same sentence.
After this, my brother decided to be abit of a prick. Lately he's been trying to "push me" so to speak. Get a response, make me get annoyed at him, so I lash back. Then he has ammunition to fire back at me, and get me in trouble. I try to ignore him most of the time, but usually it just doesn't work. I can't help but get annoyed.
Towards the end of the night I decided to be a good faithful old boyfriend and ring my girlfriend again. Very kind of me. But, towards the end I did find myself wondering "Hey...what's the point"...
She was talking to me on the phone whilst watching Mock the week on dave. But I think she took priority with dave, seeing as if I asked her a question, I'd have to ask it 4 or 5 times until I got a valid response of any form. When I said I had to go she didn't hear me. I didn't even get a good bye. Shocking :\ I'm beginning to wonder why she watches it whilst on the phone to me. I think, personally, it should be more of a "one or the other" situation. You can't really have both.
To end the day, I had to do the pots. I wasn't in a good mood already. Of course. nothing can go wrong if you wash the pots. Unless you accidently make a plate shatter into well over 200 pieces and cut your foot.
Oh...How I love tuesdays... :\ Tomorrow just can't come fast enough.

The Eighties
My...The eighties was a glorious time, do you not think?
The music, was almost amazing. All the songs that I grew up with came from there. Duran Duran, The Vapours, Michael Jackson, Tears for Fears, Soft Cell, Adam and the Ants, Simple Minds, Madness...You name it.
Then...some of the most amazing films ever came from that decade...
Back to the Future (1,2&3)...Star Wars V & VI...Indiana Jones (all 3)... E.T...Top Gun...etc...
The fashion was somewhat lacking in 'awesomeness' but hey...After everything the 80's gave us, can we really complain? No :)
The technology was...also lacking
But at the time it was somewhat amazing...A sony walkman being the word on everyone who loved musics lips.
But...no matter how awesome the 80's was...I still would not want to have been born then. Why? Well...Some things are best left un-experienced. And I think I'd prefer now anyway...

6th Form...Oh No
Right...There are the lists out of the way. Now, to get on with my blog as usual. Hurrah!
As of now, it's 10:41am...it's cold outside, and I have 6th form later today.
6th form. Gahh! I hate it, so, so much. Alot now, I'm really starting to question why, i the name of all that is holy, I took it. Seriously. I'm failing, badly. The lessons in which I'm taking relate in no way to what I want to do later in life...And what I want to do later in life I don't need qualifications for. Just GCSE's...and I got well over the 0 (!) that I needed... But the one thing I do need, life experience, I'm not getting at 6th form...
In all honesty, the only thing really keeping me at 6th form is EMA...My life pretty much depends on that nowadays, just so I can see my girlfriend, Megan.
Well...sitting here moaning won't get me very far. Looks like I'm actually going to have to make some sort of effort...So, what can I do?
I'm going to look for a job! Why? Life experience, that's why...and it allows me to earn money to keep seeing my girlfriend. When I've found this job, I can quit 6th form. Hurrah. Everyone is happy...Now just to tell my parents. Wish me luck!

THE BIG IDEA
So often these days, I find myself bored beyond all recognition, and as a result, I feel bad about myself, have a lower self esteem, and don't do as well as I could be doing. So...I had a revelation. An idea to keep myself focused.
Here it is. Bear with me. You might not think it a great idea, but in my messed up little mind it all works. I am going to create three lists.
A list of "things to do before I die", a list of "things to do" and a list of "things I haven't done". I think this will be able to give me a series of short term, and long term goals to make both myself happy and keep me from being as bored; because I could be doing a list item instead of nothing.
I'll explain each list, don't worry :)
"Things to do before I die": Right, well, everyone wants to do certain things in the 70 odd years they have on this planet, so why not write down these things I want to do, and then complete each one. Some, may be a little mental, but hey...gotta try everything once! Codenamed: Arthur
"Things to do": Okay, well...I have an idea of what I want to do when I'm older. So, until then, what do I do? Well, this list will give me an idea of what I could be doing rather than getting bored. The list items will be achievable and something which I want to do. Good idea. Right? Codenamed: Jerry
"Things I haven't done": Well...things I haven't done. Let's see...Some things I have yet to try. These could be good things, and bad things. So, I could of course keep track of them on this handy little list :) Codenamed: Chris
Now just to create these lists!

A fresh start. A new beginning...
Right then. Here's a risky movement. I've now, finally decided, enough is enough. I'm fed up of my life being very untidy. Un-organized. Therefore, I am going to clean this blog up! At the start of the New Year...I vowed to do two things;
a.) get a girlfriend, and b.) get organized. I've got a girlfriend, but I'm faaar from organized.
So..here we are. I'm restarting my blog. I'm going to put a few of my old posts back up. But, other than that, it's a fresh start. A fresh beginning. So...
...If you're new here, let me give you an introduction. I'm Ryan Palmer. I'm from Nottinghamshire. An odd county in England, seeing as we pretty much worship a theif, Robin Hood. I'm 17 at the moment, and currently go to 6th form, studying Law, Sociology and ICT...But I don't want to be there. I'd much rather be in a job, working my way upto my dream career, being in the police force.
I have got a girlfriend, Megan, and I love her dearly. More than anything, literally.
But...that's all we need to know as of now. You'll pick the rest up, trust me :)
